We had an insanely busy weekend. Nathan's work holds a twice annual event for all of their reps that keeps him busy from Thursday through Saturday evening. Although we don't see much of him for the duration of those days, we do get the perk of joining all of the reps and the company on a snow play day. Guests of the event stay up in the mountains and on Saturday are invited for either a hike/tour day in Yosemite, or a day of skiing/snow play at Badger Pass. Usually Nathan goes on the hike, but this year we joined in to go play in the snow for the afternoon. Nathan's mom offered to come up with us and watch Tanner so that we could take the big boys out without having to worry if Tanner was cold or upset (so nice!!). Turned out to be a gorgeous day where we didn't really need to worry if Tanner (or any of us for that matter!) was cold or not...it was borderline hot up there! We decided against starting the boys on skis this year and opted instead for a day tubing. We had all brought plenty of clothes to bundle up in and ended up wearing the bare minimum that would keep us dry....and even that was warm when we were moving around. Such weird weather. Where is winter??

We left Tanner and Grandma out sunbathing and listening to the live band on the deck, and headed off to take the big boys to play in the snow. Grandma worked her magic and had Tanner out just about instantly. Kathleen, thank you again for taking Tanner. It was fun to play with the big boys without worrying about Tan Tan.
Snowballs....
Snowmen....
....aaaaaand tubing! The tubing area is new to Badger Pass (at least since the last time we had visited...it's been a while), but was so fun for the little guys! I loved that the bottoms of the tubes were covered so you never got wet!
Notice that Nathan is in short sleeves...told you it was warm!
The boys took turns tubing down with Nathan since they weren't old enough to go on their own,
and almost always insisted on being towed back up!
Eventually it was my turn hoofing them up the hill and I learned quickly why Nathan wanted a break...it was no easy task pulling those little lugs up the half slushy snow. With every step you took, your foot would slip a half step back down the hill.
Worth the work though because it was pretty fun to go flying back down the hill!
At the top, before tubing down, Nathan would swing the boys on the end of the tube's leash for a bit. A task could be kept for old Hercules there....I wasn't quite that ambitious!
If I haven't mentioned it, Drew is hardly ever serious for pictures anymore. If you ask him to say "cheese", inevitably we get something like this...
....or this. Silly boy.
On Sunday, Nathan was done with work stuff, but things weren't slowing down. We head out for the morning to work on a service project with our church. A city clean up that we took the boys along to. Good company always makes work more fun, and we had a great group! The morning went by fast and things looked so much better when we were all finished up. In the evening, we hosted a birthday dinner for Nathan's mom. It was nice to have everyone over and fun to celebrate Kathleen (Kimmie and Dana, we missed you!).
I love when Kathleen's birthday rolls around because she's one of the only people in the family that requests a carrot cake, which I love (and I won't make unless there's an excuse like a birthday).
Of course the boys "helped" blow out the candles...
...and then made sure to clean them up once they were off the cake. So helpful! Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you!
And one last one, just because :)
